This amazingly easy Applebees spinach artichoke dip recipe is so rich and creamy, delicious and totally satisfying! After mixing all the ingredients together, I prepared this dip by baking it until the contents become oh so gooey and melty.

There is nothing better than watching a really intense football game on a Sunday with a plate of tortilla chips, an ice-cold beer, and a really tasty batch of spinach artichoke dip.

If you’re the type of person who shies away from the kitchen, rest assured that this recipe is so simple. Not only that, but it’s also low in carbs and calories.

In addition to this easy spinach artichoke dip recipe, we’ve also added a crispy and crunchy flatbread chip recipe for dipping. Using Flatout flatbread ensures that very little carbs are consumed.

Prior to purchasing NFL Sunday ticket for our DirecTV package, we would go out to our favorite sports bars to watch our beloved Cleveland Browns. One of our favorite appetizers to order was spinach artichoke dip.

As a type 1 diabetic, I’m always looking for low carb snacks to conserve my insulin and aim for weight loss.

This homemade spinach artichoke dip is very low carb and uses light mayo, fat-free cream cheese, and Greek yogurt.

Instead of using tortilla chips or pita crackers for dipping we opted for using flat out tortillas cutting them in triangles and baking them.

A whole tortilla contains about 19 carbs and that is really low for such a big serving compared to the other options available.

We finish this tasty appetizer with a nice heaping of Parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Wait until the cheese becomes a golden color to remove from the oven.

Easy Spinach Artichoke Dip Recipe | Fresh Spinach Dip

 

  • 1 cloves garlic
  • 14 oz artichokes drained
  • 10 oz frozen chopped spinach (defrosted)
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup onion
  • 2/3 cup fresh shredded parmesan
  • 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil spray
  • 3 Flatout flatbreads
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Drain artichokes
  3. In a food processor, chop artichoke hearts, garlic and onion. Not to fine.
  4. Combine all the other ingredients in a large bowl and mix together.
  5. Place mixture in a casserole dish, level with a spoon and bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until until cheese is golden brown.
  6. Cut Flatouts into diagonal chips and cook on a baking sheet for 8 minutes or until lightly brown at 375°F.
