Infusing mango into the sauce gives them an exotic yet refreshing change from the traditional hot wings recipe. The amazing part about this recipe is how much flavor comes from so few ingredients. The sauce consists of a standard mild salsa, cayenne pepper, honey or agave syrup and cubed mango, salt and pepper. That’s it.

When it comes to buffalo wings, nutritional value isn’t usually considered. However, this recipe takes advantage of ingredients that are lower in caloric value and fairly low carbohydrate values. An individual serving should be around 362 calories and 28 grams. As an added bonus, each serving should provide about 24 grams of protein.

How to make tasty buffalo chicken wings in the oven
- 5 lbs Chicken wings
- 4 tbsp Baking powder
- 1 tbsp Cayenne pepper
- 16 ounces Salsa
- 1/4 cup Agave syrup
- 1/2 cup Mango cubed
- olive oil cooking spray
- Black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
Coat wings with spices
Preheat oven to 250°F/120
Toss wings with baking powder, seasoning salt, and cayenne pepper, garlic and onion powder. Place on a rack on a baking sheet that has been sprayed well with cooking spray
Bake for 35 minutes
Make sauce to coat wings
Increase temp to 425°F/220°C
In a blender, pulse salsa, mango and honey until smooth
Toss wings in ⅓ cup sauce
Bake an additional 45 minutes.
Garnish with cilantro
