If you want to know how to make a delicious steak street tacos recipe like those found on a food truck or fair, you’ve come to the right place. These spicy steak tacos are so easy and fun to make. The chimichurri sauce combined with the marinated flank steak give this recipe a unique appeal.
Food festival season is upon us once again. I love this time of year because you can get out in the warm sun and indulge in foods you might not otherwise be introduced to.
One of my favorite movies is Chef with Jon Favreau. In the movie, he is a famous, talented chef who loses his job and decides to start a food truck business to get by.
It’s really funny and all of the food in the movie looks so amazing! It makes me want to start a food truck business serving these scrumptious steak street tacos for hundreds, no thousands of customers.
How to Make Flank Steak Street Tacos with Authentic Chimichurri Sauce
We start this recipe off with a large tortilla shell and a deliciously marinated medium cooked flank steak. To complement the steak, we add a drizzle of chimichurri sauce for some Argentinian delight. We top it all off with a generous heaping of Queso Blanco cheese and cabbage, cilantro, lime slaw and a touch of pineapple salsa.
What makes these steak street tacos so good is how quickly they can be prepared and with simple ingredients. For those of us who have busy lives, these are great meals for on the go!
Other than the tortillas having a relatively high volume of carbs, this is a fairly healthy meal. If you were to use a low carb tortilla such as Flatout Bread, these would be perfect for anyone watching their weight.
Sides and Other Notables
If nutrition is not a concern, a fluffy Spanish rice would pair nicely with this. Chips and salsa or pico de gallo would also be a nice choice.
I like to pair my steak street tacos recipe with a good Mexican beer like Dos Equis. It reminds me of quality food truck food you would get at a food festival.
